04/19/2010 - Albany, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Albany has hired Katie Abrahamson-Henderson as its next head women's basketball coach, the school announced Monday.

Abrahamson-Henderson replaces Trina Patterson, who resigned March 8 after eight seasons.

Abrahamson-Henderson spent the last two seasons as associate head coach at Indiana, and also served as head coach at Missouri State from 2002-07, leading that program to three NCAA Tournament appearances.

"We are extremely pleased to have found a coach who has a proven record of success on the court and in the classroom," said Albany athletics director Lee McElroy.

Abrahamson-Henderson had a record of 95-61 during her five seasons with Missouri State, which won the 2005 WNIT title under her guidance. Following her stint at Missouri State, Abrahamson-Henderson was an assistant at Washington before moving on to Indiana.
